What is FIRST? 

FIRST stands for For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology. It is an organization that creates a global robotics community for young people. FIRST teaches the youth of every community how to work together using their resources along with the guidance of their mentors. Each year a new game is revealed and teams then use innovation to build a new robot with the purpose of completing the challenge. Students must work together to not only create a robot but raise funds, and create a team brand, while trying to make an impact on their communities. FIRST prepares students everywhere with important life skills while having fun, and also opens new opportunities for college scholarships and job opportunities.
